Angels

On Tuesday I returned to the church building again with friend Missy Morrison. A few changes - someone removed the decorative plaster that had been above and below many of the Stations of the Cross, chiseled the angel faces surrounded by wings out of the entry way corners, and broke away some of the stained glass on the way up to the bell tower.  The rain had made its way inside.

I photographed the changes and views I hadn't noticed before. We made the scary climb to the attic to try out the medium format camera. I'll post pictures soon. We salvaged two angel heads, a broken floor grate, a confessional kneeler and a couple other things.

Also I found out the church will be coming down in about six to eight weeks after the convent in demolished.

Wednesday I got a phone call.  Those few items we took were already purchased by someone else.  Oops! So today I took the angel heads and the other items back.  Oh well.

My adviser emailed me his review of my research paper on Gordon Matta-Clark and Georges Rousse.  "Great paper!"  Better than Sister James Joseph's review of my penmanship in first grade (above). I started looking through some of my keepsakes from childhood that relate to Catholicism.  More on that later.
